It all started when Bill Gamber, co-founder of Big Agnes, and his friends were on a camping trip in the Mount Zirkel Wilderness area of Colorado. During this excursion, they encountered a peak known as Big Agnes. Inspired by the beauty and spirit of outdoor exploration, they decided to name their budding outdoor gear company after this majestic peak.
Founded in 2001 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Big Agnes began its journey, from just a few employees in a small building with a few products.
