How to Choose the Right Length Ski Poles

Uptrack Adjustable Ski Poles

The right angle rule is the easiest way to determine the right ski pole length. Turn a ski pole upside down and hold it just under the basket. If the poles are the correct length, your elbow will sit comfortably by your hip, and your arms will be bent at about a 90-degree angle.

You can also use a tape measure. Bend your elbow at about 90 degrees and measure the distance between your hand and the ground. Add two inches for the point of the pole that sticks into the snow.
